Images of the 286 Air Expeditionary Wing at Ali Al Salem Air Base using their Reapers were published in July 2019. The US DVIDS caption notes “MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle awaits an engine test before Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, July 23, 2019. Reaper’s are maintained, launched and recovered from deployed locations but are remotely operated from bases in the United States during ISR operations around the world.”
Another photo from June notes “Airman 1st Class Antonio Dorce, 386th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, inspects an MQ-9 Reaper’s landing gear at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, June 9, 2020. Airmen from the 386th EAMXS, also known as ‘White AMU’, maintain, prepare and recover the MQ-9’s before and after every launch ensuring optimal mission success.”
Photos showed them with different munitions in July 2019. More photos from June 2020 also exist.
