Waves of attacks on Saudi Arabia were reported after midnight in the first hours of June 23.
Social media reports initially did not know what to make the noises heard near Riyadh. But later reports said “The Arab Coalition announces that it has intercepted several drones loaded with explosives launched by the Houthis and which are said to have headed for Saudi Arabia.”
The US mission wrote: “U.S. Mission to Saudi Arabia has issued a Security Alert regarding reports of a missile or drone attack on Riyadh.” It wrote “There are media reports of a possible missile or drone that struck a building in Riyadh. At this time, there are no reports of casualties. The Mission urges American citizens to review immediately precautions they should take in the event of an attack and stay alert in case of additional future attacks… If you hear a loud explosion or if sirens are activated, immediately seek cover.”
· If in a home or a building, go to the lowest level of the structure with the fewest exterior walls, windows, and openings; close any doors and sit near an interior wall, away from any windows or openings.
· If you are outdoors, immediately seek cover in a hardened structure; if that is not possible, lie down and cover your head with your hands.
· Be aware that even if the incoming missile or drone is intercepted, falling debris represents a significant risk.
